These photographs depict the system's Mash Tun. There is outflow to the HERMS on the front bottom of the tun and a recirculation inflow at the top left of the kettle. The copper arm inside the tun can be turned down so the inflow is beneath the mash surface or a flexable tube can be applied to float just under the mash surface. By setting the inflow temperature at 2 degrees over desired mash temperature, heat loss from the mash can be negated and the tun kept at a constant temperature indefinately.
